Learn Overland riding techniques with Voge!

For our 10th anniversary year we are pleased to say that Voge have offered to provide bikes for use on the MotoSkills Course!

This means that if you’d like to develop the skills you may need to deal with any number of obstacles you'll meet when riding the world, you can safely learn using a light and nimble Voge 300 Rally. Up and down steps into a Guatemalan Hotel, or navigating a narrow bank through a Vietnamese paddy field, you can learn with some expert tuition and start on a bike that isn't even yours. What could be better?

You may wonder who or what Voge is, but founded in 2018 they are just the premium brand offered by Chinese manufacturing giant Loncin, who build two and a half million bikes a year and make parts and some complete bikes for brands that you may be more familiar with, like Honda and BMW.

The Voge 300 Rally, in contrast to the increased weight and displacement of most current Trail and Adventure bikes, retains all the essence of overland travel.

Born in the 1970s, the original trail bikes were easy-to-ride, economical, and especially versatile. Lightweight and simple, they were competent both off-road and on.

Austin Vince and thousands of others have shown how capable smaller, simpler bikes are when it comes to going Round The World and the Voge 300 Rally is their take on just what you need.

Equipped with a reliable 292cc liquid-cooled engine with a four-valve DOHC cylinder head, Bosch fuel injection, nearly 30 HP and 25Nm of torque, this competent little trailie should take you to any destination. Its robust lightweight frame, long-travel suspension, upside-down forks and rear mono-shock with progressive linkage, along with 21" and 18" wheels, low weight, and details like the luggage rack, USB port, and protective windshield, are the perfect combination for enjoying every ride.

The Voge 300 Rally also boasts an 11 litre fuel tank (with optional auxiliary tank), switchable ABS and enduro footpegs for when the going gets knarly.

The MotoSkills Course, just like the tea and coffee at The Overland Event, is free, you just need to register your interest with Cogs, Jim and the team and you can do that at the main Overland Shop.

So if you want to board a dugout canoe in Sierra Leone, or access urban accommodation in India, you'll be equipped with hints, tips and practise!
